Here are the best sitcoms to binge watch on Netflix Australia. Because who needs fresh air?
So it’s a Tuesday afternoon, you’ve got the day off work and it’s 28 degrees and sunny. What better way to spend the day than eliminating all contact to the outside world, lying in bed and binge watching an entire TV show start to finish?
Because there’s an endless amount of quality sitcoms to choose from, I’ve narrowed this list down to ones available on Australian Netflix with 3 or more seasons.
How I Met Your Mother

An absolute classic. Through nine seasons we struggle through Ted Mosby’s dating life, waiting to discover who he finally settles down with.
Filled with moments of tragic sadness and lol-ie laughter, you’ll need a box of tissues for this one, as you enjoy the emotional rollercoaster that is HIMYM.
Neil Patrick Harris’s Barney character often steals the show but the quick wit and snarky comments of all five members of the gang (and the many cameos) make this show very difficult to turn off.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine

NINE-NINE! Andy Samberg is back with a vengeance in this side-splittingly funny cop-based sitcom. A police department made up of 7-10 insanely different characters all trying to find unique ways to insult each other? Yes please!
Samberg runs the show, but the supporting cast is equally as funny, and the crimes they solve (when they actually do some work) are just as outrageous as their jokes. Currently midway through their 4th season, this is quickly becoming one of my favourite shows on TV.
That ’70s Show

An oldie but a goodie, literally. That ’70s Show stars Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Topher Grace and a whole heap of other amazing actors that make you feel a part of the story.
This show is perfect if you feel like going back to the good ol’ days of 1970s Mid-Western America. Predominantly filmed in the basement of Foreman’s house, very little actually goes on with the gang – but the script writing is so good that you really don’t notice.
If you love banter with mates but hate hanging out with real people, then That 70’s Show is the show for you!
Archer

So I’m not really sure if animations can be sitcoms, but Archer is so funny I’m making an exception. One minute it’s 11am Saturday and I’ve just started the pilot episode, the next its 4am Wednesday, I’ve missed 2 exams and a wedding and I’ve finished all six seasons. No regrets!
Quirky, irreverent and objectively brilliant, Sterling Archer and his international spy team are sent on one ridiculous mission after another, escaping traps and wooing beautiful (cartoon) woman with ease, as hilarity ensues.
So funny, so raunchy and so exciting, you’re guaranteed to cancel all your plans to keep watching.
Arrested Development

Do you like laughing, being alive and breathing? Well then you’ll love Arrested Development!
Follow the Bluth family on a serious of escapades so insanely unbelievable and outrageously hilarious you’ll have to question your own sanity. Each season contains a series of seemingly unrelated and over the top stories that all intertwine in the end, leaving you in shock at what has just happened.
Brought to life by an all-star cast, this show will make you cry, laugh and possibly vomit. It will also make you wonder how you ever managed to survive without it.
