Suicide Squad was quite a hit at the box office and its sequel promises to bring in even more c-c-cash. What’s more intriguing is that a key character might return for the sequel after his awe-inspiring death in the first movie.
Fans have been clamouring for more after Justice League proved to be a disaster at the theatres. The DCEU has some cool movies up its sleeve, which will throw the disaster right out of the park. The sequel to the ‘super-villain’ movie is one of them. Suicide Squad 2 is expected to return in late 2019 bearing some familiar faces.
Diablo Might Not Be Dead As We Expected Him To Be
However, Joel Kinnaman (who played Rick Flagg on the screen) recently posted a workout photo on social media, which happens to include Jay Hernandez (Played El Diablo on the screen) as well.
El Diablo might just be back with the squad, but since there’s no official confirmation, we can’t help but speculate. It’s not entirely inexplicable since it’s unnatural for a pyrokinetic to die from a bomb blast. Hence, there are ways for him to return. Let’s see if he’s indeed going to be back with the cast.
What Do We Know So Far About Suicide Squad 2?
Suicide Squad 2 is still far off and it’s too early to expect news on the production. With the kind of reception Justice League received, DC will try to focus on the movies at hand and turn the tide over. The movies in the queue after Justice league are Aquaman (December 21, 2018), Shazam! (April, 2019) and Wonder Woman 2(November 1, 2019). Therefore, it might be late 2019 before we expect the movie to hit the screens.
The production team is expected to have Charles Roven as the lead producer along with Michael De Luca, who produced The Social Network and the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise, as the recent addition. The shoot won’t start until late 2018. So, it is a long way off.
