It looks like Logan will have a pretty epic post credit scene. However the big questions is will it have Deadpool?
Well we know that Logan is the final Wolverine movie to star Hugh Jackman (#SadFace), so it would make perfect sense to build the hype for Deadpool 2.
Hugh Jackman as Wolverine was great while it lasted but I think it’s time he retired and hand over the torch to Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.
Hugh Jackman has been killing it as Wolverine for such a long time now that I basically think of him as my superhero dad. Although let’s be honest, even though Hugh Jackman looks like a dad, I’d still lick his beard and I know you would too.
What better way to keep the X-Men universe going than to use the post credit scene of Logan as a way of saying “Deadpool 2 is the new kid on the block.”
Director’s words on post credit scene…
Leading up to the release of Logan, everyone has been expecting a Deadpool cameo. However Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds and director James Mangold pooped on the party by telling fans “it isn’t happening.” They called it a rumour and said that Wade Wilson did not fit the tone of Logan.
I call bullshit on that one! Everyone loves hype so I reckon it’s a very real possibility. New rumours are spreading like malaria that Wolverine will face off against Deadpool. How cool would that be! If it isn’t Deadpool than surely it will be some other epic Deadpool related cameo like Pierce Brosnan as Cable.
Logan updated it’s run time…
Mike Sampson of the Alamo Drafthouse reported via Twitter that Fox had included the extra minutes of post credit scene glory into Logan‘s runtime. The critics screening did not include the post credit scene but rest assured the final release will.
This brings the total runtime of Logan from 135 minutes to 140.34 minutes. That’s fucking long for an X-Men movie, but critics are saying it is both mesmerising and heart breaking to the last second.
Post credit scenes are pretty common in X-Men movies.
Apocalypse was set up by Days of Future Past with a short prequel of Apocalypse’s villain at a young age. Also Logan was set up by Apocalypse last year through the revelation of a vial of blood belonging to X-23. So on that note, it would be weird if Logan wasn’t used to help set up Deadpool 2.
Unfortunately we will have to wait another two weeks to see the post credit scene. Logan is set for release on March 3rd.
Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, Dafne Keen, Eriq La Salle, Elise Neal and Elizabeth Rodriguez.
Let’s hope that Logan gives us a taste of Deadpool 2, but if not, i’m sure it’ll still be fucking epic. The wait is nearly over!
