We break down some of the hottest Easter eggs from the Deadpool 2 trailer.

With 2018 turning out to be one of the biggest years in Superhero movies, Deadpool 2 is definitely on our hype list. One thing that these films do is that they release too much in their trailers. But we’re here to review, not complain.

I’m going to be looking at our favourite resident badass, Deadpool, and the trailer for his new movie. Especially the things I found interesting and that you might have missed, Easter eggs and all.

The Kid?

The kid, the kid… They keep talking about some kid in the trailer and I was like, “What kid are you talking about?!” Well it turns out that Cable has come back in time to kill a mutant kid, played by Julian Dennison. Details are scares on who this character actually is and why Cable wants him dead. Very Terminator inspired if you ask me.

It’s clear that this kid has some literal fire power, meaning that he could be Taro, a young Son fire, Starbolt or any fire wielding X-men.

It’s no secret that the makers of Deadpool are not shy to play with the fourth wall. In the trailer, as Wade is running towards the cab of his driver, we are reminded of a similar scene from Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.

And it doesn’t stop there, as Wilson takes every opportunity to point out action movie clichés and even ends the trailer by trashing the third instalments in Superhero franchises. He also labeled Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants as pornography, which is a poke at Ryan’s wife Blake, who stared in that franchise.

A different kind of X-force

The X-force has a long history in Marvel Comics and we’re excited to see them make an appearance in the Deadpool sequel. Fans probably recognize a few differences between comic book X-force and the one in the trailer.

Firstly, in the comics, Cable was generally the leader with Deadpool being introduced only later on. The movie was right to have Domino as an original member but the other members are difficult to identify.

The original members include Boom-Boom, Farrell, Shatter star and Warpath. Terry Cruz might be playing Warpath but beyond that we’re going to have to wait until May 18th.
