Wonder Woman has proved to the world that a superhero movie with a female protagonist is always going to be a blockbuster. It’s time for Black Widow now to take up the reins.
Marvel Studios has finally given a nod to a standalone Black Widow movie starring Scarlett Johansson. Over the years there has been a lot of inside talk regarding the possibility of such a movie. Black Widow is entitled to a 2020 release date. This means it is gonna incorporate itself within Phase 4 of the MCU. Hence, the Infinity War storyline remains intact.
Is It Going To Be Worth The Hype?
Black Widow, a master assassin turned spy at S.H.I.E.L.D has played an integral role alongside the Avengers without any superhuman power. People absolutely loved her in Avengers (2010). Scarlett Johansson has played the role efficiently and people have been craving for her standalone film from then.
What Do We Know So Far About The Film?
No further details have yet been released by the studio, so it’s really just more patience on the line.
Black Widow is going to be the second superhero film of Marvel with a female protagonist. The first spot has been scooped up by Captain Marvel, set to release on March 6, 2019.
What Does It Mean For Natasha Romanoff And Infinity War?
The potential release date of the film ensures that the standalone film won’t meddle with Phase 3 at all. This means that the Infinity War storyline remains intact and Thanos is still coming (he has been coming for a really long time now!).
Fans all over the world have already claimed that the movie’s going to be a bigger blockbuster than Wonder Woman. It’s really hard to tell (Gal Gadot’s smile is pretty hard to beat!). A lot can happen over the span of two years (including Wonder Woman 2), so don’t get your hopes too high, Marvel fans!
However, it is beyond doubt that Black Widow is going to be a blockbuster amidst all the other superhero films.
Black Widow is potentially set to release in 2020.
