Spider-Man, by Insomniac Games, was one of the best games to feature on the PS4, with some of the best DLC’s seen in a video-game.
The sequel was perfectly set up too, with Miles becoming “a” Spider-Man at the end of the first game, and was now perfectly positioned to take the lead role in the new game.
During the announcement of the PS5, Spider-Man: Miles Morales was given a trailer of his own, and we learned 5 major things about the new game.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be played on the Playstation 5
We now know that the next Spider-Man game will be on the Playstation 5, utilising a more powerful and faster box, new architecture, superior resolution support and much faster storage. The release date is during the holidays 2020.
The Miles Morales timeline
Miles seems to be around 4 years older in this sequel and the game appears to be set around 4 years after Spider-Man, with a distinctly older physique and facial structure for Miles.

The Spider-like game mechanics
The fluid motion of moving/swinging around from the original game appears to have carried over into the new game and fighting dynamics seem similar too. There’s also a scene where Miles is walking down the street, which potentially means there may be more game time as Miles, rather than just as Spider-Man.

The New York setting
We get a few glimpses of the city and it seems to be another open world New York, which also helps to explain how Insomniac Games got this turned around so quickly, without having to build a new open world from scratch.

The villains of Spider-Man: Miles Morales
The Prowler, a villain without superhero powers who instead utilises tech and a history of being a thief to great effect, appears to feature for a split second. This makes a lot of sense, being a key villain for Miles in the comic books. Another two villains are featured, but they are tough to make out in the half second that they appear for.

Some of the questions that remain include; what happened to Harry Osborne and what was the venom-esque scene at the end of the first game about? Questions… that need answers.
