The Game of Thrones Season 7 finale is going to be a whopper of an episode!
It’s gone by in the blink of an eye and yet here we are, getting ready for the big Season 7 finale – and we couldn’t be more excited! The penultimate episode of Season 7 featured a glorious showdown between Daenerys’ dragons and the Whitewalkers and the fallout is going to be absolutely huge!
So here are 5 things to look forward to in the huge (81 minutes!) Game of Thrones Season 7 finale:
1. Almost all the major characters are getting together for an epic summit

This is going to be one of the biggest moments ever in Game of Thrones history and the outcome is going to shape Season 8 dramatically. Cersei Lannister, Daenerys Targaryan and Jon Snow, heads of the three major forces in Westeros, are all getting together to discuss an armistice in order to deal with the threat of the Whitewalkers.
Asides from our three great leaders, we’re also expecting Jaime Lannister, Tyrion Lannister, Ser Davos, Gendry, Theon Greyjoy, Brienne of Tarth, Jorah Mormont, Lord Varys to all be there. Others that could also be there include The Hound, The Mountain, Euron Greyjoy, Yara Greyjoy, Beric Dondarrion, Qyburn, Missandei, Greyworm, and the list goes on and on…
That’s a huge amount of reunions and first time meetings! The tension is going to be massive and there’s all sorts of potential for traps and deceits. Expect all sorts of dramatic speeches, shows of force and possible clashes. The possibilities are endless for this summit! I’d expect some sort of deal to be reached by the end, just who knows how the hell we will get there…
2. The Arya and Sansa clash will reach its climax and conclusion

I’ve found it kind of hard to buy into this storyline, as Arya seems to have reverted back to acting like a child after all the experience and maturity she gained on her travels. I know Littlefinger is a master manipulator, but surely they can’t be falling for his traps so easily!?
Whilst it’s possible that one of these characters is going to kill the other, it seems highly unlikely. All anyone needs to do is have a short chat with Bran (remember him?) and they’ll find out all the truth they need to know to resolve this ugly situation.
More likely, this is going to end up with Littlefinger finally getting his comeuppance, with Arya being the obvious figure to deal the deathblow. She did hand her dagger over to Sansa, so maybe Sansa could be involved somehow. Either way, expect this odd storyline to reach its conclusion and move on from those ugly (and poorly written) confrontations.
3. The unveiling of the Night King’s dragon

There’s no guarantee on this one, but it would be so cool if we did see it. Episode 6 ended with Viserion’s resurrection (that blue eye!), which really beefs up the Whitewalker’s army and gives the Night King an awesome new ride!
It’s possible that we’re going to see him finally attack the wall, especially if Viserion still breathes fire. The other possibility is that he now breathes ice, which would be really cool to see, but maybe not as practical for attacking a wall made out of… ice.
The appearance of the Night King atop his new undead dragon could also be the catalyst for all of Westeros’ factions finally agreeing to work together. Plenty is possible here and surely it will involve Bran as well, who’s really had very little to do this season.
4. Cleganebowl!

Ok, so as mentioned we’re expecting the Hound and the Mountain to be present at this epic summit. While this seemed unlikely at the start of the season, since they were so far apart on the map, Season 7’s liberal time and travel laws has allowed these two characters to come head to head in the season finale.
Now, how exactly these two will take part in an epic battle is quite unclear, but some sort of trial by combat seems the fair way to go. Maybe Cersei will only agree to the armistice if she gets a trial by combat, most likely in regards to Tyrion escaping his fate at the last trial by combat.
This is a battle we’ve been waiting for since the very beginning of the show and if it doesn’t happen now, who knows if it will ever happen. I’m sure the writers will find a way to get these two engaged in what will be the battle of the century!
5. Jon Snow and Daenerys romance is finally on! Or completely off…

So there are two ways this can go. We saw at the end of the last episode that this romance is really starting to blossom and it only seems to be a matter of time before they finally get it on, right?
Small kink in the works though, we know that they’re actually related! Yes, Daenerys is Jon’s auntie. Only Bran knows this at the moment, and it might be time for him to share this insight with the world.
IF they do find out, it will surely put the brakes on their budding romance, as no one wants to hook up with their auntie, do they? Do they?? This bit of news also comes with the revelation that Jon has a stronger claim to the throne than anyone else, another potential spanner in the works.
Jon may have agreed to bend the knee but things might be about to get ugly…
So there you have it!
