I’m fairly relaxed when it comes to first seasons of new TV series so patiently started Fear The Walking Dead.
Television shows usually take a while to find their feet and the second season is often much better once the producers have secured an audience and a budget.
But, FTWD already had all that built for it because of The Walking Dead. Unfortunately I found it a little dry, so this Fear The Walking Dead review isn’t full of enthusiasm sadly. Usually I would be rapt with attention but the characters were dull, and that makes all the difference. To show what I mean here, for all the silly Rick memes that are out there he still added character to The Walking Dead series, and a bit of grit. You liked him, and enjoyed watching him.
I couldn’t bring myself to like any of the characters. And the zombies aren’t really the interesting thing here. Yes they need to build tension, shock us and frighten us. But really it’s the characters we want to see.
It’s of course, too early to ditch entirely and we can see how the series pans out, but and this isn’t a pun, but it didn’t really come alive for me.
In fact, I can’t even remember too much of it. Maybe I’ve been infected.
Let’s hope our next The Fear Of The Walking dead review is a little less gut-wrenching.
